Mummy has not been blogging lately (both at Isabelle's blog and mine). She has lots and lots of photos waiting to be uploaded - from her promise made in Isabelle's blog to update on our Star Virgo Cruise, to our outings to the Marina Barrage, the Zoo, my school projects and also not forgetting my birthday celebrations... ... ... but she has not been able to do so due to the super long list of "perpetually forever urgent" assignments at work as well as the tiring FDW issues at home.

She is tired and upset with how things are going recently but there is one thing that I know will perk up her mood and that's

US :-)

Hopefully, mummy will be able to catch up soon.

(Note from Mummy: This blog shall mark the beginning of my journey to catch-up on the old updates)

For Term 2, the school requested us to prepare either a toy or game that is made of WOOD and it will be displayed at the end of Term 2 Open House. Papa has been 'diligently' surfing the internet to search for ideas and final all of us decided that we shall do a 'hockey game board'.

My teacher says that I must do the project myself with maybe some 'occasional' help from papa and mummy. Hence, I have asked mummy to take these photos for me to prove that this is made by ME:

It's Good Friday today. Papa and mummy brought us to the zoo. The weather was super super hot and humid. Took some photos but most of them are rather "not so nice for posting" - either with our eyes half shut (due to the glare) or our sweaty hair sticking everywhere.

1st Holiday with Isabelle (Star Virgo)
April 2009

We had our 1st FAMILY holiday (together with Isabelle) in April 09 - on board the Star Virgo Cruise. The cruise left Sin on a wed night heading to KL. This is my (and Isabelle) 1st time on board a cruise and I am really excited about it and have been talking non-stop since the time we got into a taxi till we reach the cruise terminal. Isabelle fell asleep on the way to the cruise terminal. Mummy says she is charging her 'battery' - getting all ready for the holiday... hee hee

I am taking Phonics Class

I am taking Phonics Class Now!

I am a K1 boy this year! My teacher says I am a BIG boy now and hence should start to read more books. To encourage us to read more, the kindergarten is allowing us to bring back 3 story books every week and I am supposed to read together with papa and mummy every night. We started doing this since the start of this school term and one day mummy suddenly think that I should attend some phonics class to help me with my reading. She asked if I would like to attend (and was so worried I might say no to her). Hee hee, mummy was wrong. Yes! I would love to attend and I really want to be able to recognise and pronouce more words.

And so, I started my 1st lesson 3 weeks ago (in fact I need to attend some 'catch up' lessons as the term has started since Jan this year).

Today is my last day of the 'catch up' lesson. Ha ha, I passed lei! My teacher says I have completed the entire Term 1 and will be PROMOTED to Term 2 next week.

This is ME enjoying my dinner after my last day of the 'catch up' lesson. Hurray!!

Same as last year, this year x'mas celebration was also at yee ma's house. The big diff compared to last year is that this year, we have a new family addition - Isabelle mei mei. (last year this time she is still comfortably inside mummy's stomach).

We also have more photos taken this year cos Kelvin gor gor just gotten himself a new camera with his first holiday part time job salary. He is now named the official camera man for us. ha ha ha:)

DLS Family Day 2008

DLS FAMILY DAY 2008 (SENTOSA) - 29 Nov 08

Papa and mummy brought me and Isabelle to Sentosa for their company family day outing at Sentosa beach. I had fun at the game kiosks, been trying really hard (and many times too) at the lucky draw spin cos I wanted to have the super big water gun. Finally managed to spin to the grand prize slot but was told that someone else have already taken the big prize away, so sad.... ... ... :(
To 'compensate' me, the jie jie at the kiok allows me to choose any 5 items from the remaining presents. What are they? - different different types of titbits, so in the end I had one big bag of titbits to bring home.

Papa n mummy surprised us by booking a hotel room at Rasa Sentosa. We had lots of fun - its Isabelle's first dip in the pool. She looked so sweet in her pinky swim suit (photos will be uploaded soon - I hope... ...cos mummy still papa to do this task, sign!).

My Term Holiday Surprise (5 Sept 2008)

I am having my 1 week term break. What have I been doing everyday? NOTHING! except getting into fights with Aaron, quarrels with Shawn gor gor and also not forgetting 'helping' mummy to look after Isabelle.

To reward me for being such 'GOOD' boy, my papa and mummy gave me a surprise today (5 Sep 08) by taking half day leave to that they can take both Isabelle and me out.

Where did we end up going? To 'my shop' of course. Ha ha, guess what/where is 'my shop'? Here's some of the photos taken. Why no photos of mei mei - cos 'my shop' is too boring for mummy, hence she has taken Isabelle to somewhere else instead... ...

Happy Birthday to me, I am four years old now. I had altogether 3 celebrations this year - very special right - thanks to my papa n mummy.

The first celebration started based on my lunar calendar, followed by my first celebration at School and last but not least a short weekend getaway at NSRCC on the actual BIG day.

Thank you papa n mummy for the fabulous times! And not forgetting thank you for all the wonderful presents given by everyone ... ... ...

BIG SURPRISE AT HOME

It was a really unforgettable incident and definitely not April's Fool Joke.

2nd April 2008, Wednesday. It was just another normal day where we go back to our place after Papa n mummy came back from work. But what happen when we reach home was definitely unusual.

The moment mummy opens the main door, we were all SHOCKED! Shattered pieces of glasses were found everywhere in the living/dining n even balcony areas. What happen? What went wrong? No one could believe such things would happen out of the blue, see photos below:

The 'TEMPERED' glass on our dining table bought from a reputable furniture store (B***** B*****) has 'EXPLODED'. Why exploded? No one knows and even the store manager (who came the next morning) could not explain. It was a TEMPERED glass top, even if the glass is broken, it should still be able to stay in one piece (similar to car windscreen) and not be shattered to pieces. Fortunately we were all not at home hence no one was injured cos of that. Otherwise we really dread what would have happen.

Although papa n mummy were not at all happy with what has happened, but the after sales service provided by the store was considered good. Given the fact that they managed to have the replacement table sent to us on the second day.

MY 3D2N STAY AT TMC (18 - 20 Feb 2008)

Are you wondering what is this 3D2N thing all about? Ha ha, actually its Mummy's hospital stay at Thomson after giving birth to Isabelle. Naughty me decided to give papa n mummy a big surprise (or headache?) by wanting to sleep over with them at the hospital. Tell you a secret, I am quite popular there, all the aunties there love talking to me and I also always get an extra serving of mummy's food - all the way from breakfast to supper. Cool right!

Please dun ask how did we manage to squeeze all three of us (sometimes including mei mei) in one room for 2 nights. We just did it!

RYAN N MUMMY HAVE FALLEN ILL!

So sad, mummy n I have both fallen ill. I was absent from school last wednesday cos I had fever. It then developed to flu and cough and I think I must have passed the virus to mummy too.

Papa n mummy kept me away from school for the past few days cos teacher says dun come if I am still not well. Mummy wanted so much to stay at home to look after me cos she was also given MCs for 2 days but she can't cos she says she has alot of things to rush in the office.

Naughty me have also been been giving papa n mummy hell for the past few nights cos I am unable to sleep well (keep coughing non-stop) and will be kicking/tossing on bed. I feel quite bad every morning seeing them with panda eyes (sorry, but I also dun know why I behave like that)

Mummy says Mrs Yip called her today to check whether am I feeling better or not. She also took the opportunity to ask Mrs Yip how did I behave in school. Luckily, Mrs Yip did not say anything too bad about me BUT she told mummy that I must learn not to talk too loud. She says that I tend to talk very loudly whenever we are engaged in some class activities and explained that could probably due to the fact that I wanted to catch people's attention. (huh, am I such an attention-seeker??)

Surprise Present

SURPRISE PRESENT

Papa had a surprise for me today when I got into his car. He passed me a watch with my favourite cartoon character 'Cars' which he said is a gift from his team mate - Aunty Dawn to me. Haha, I have a new present n I'm so happy!

Papa n mummy also helped me call Aunty Dawn so that I can tell her how much I like the watch and of course to say Thank You too.

I'm not too sure why Aunty Dawn gave me a present today cos its neither X'mas nor my bday. I asked mummy and she says maybe its cos I am a good boy that's why I have a new present today. Ya, I think mummy is right, anyway, thank you Aunty Dawn again.

3rd Week in School

3RD WEEK IN SCHOOL

How time flies. This is my 3rd week of school. My teacher (Mrs Yip and Ms Chen) taught us art n craft today - its a colourful banner with our name on it.

I enjoyed pasting the colourful bits of papers on my initial 'RK' and can't wait to show my papa n mummy my great piece of artwork. I think my papa n mummy are just as excited cos I saw mummy taking out the camera and start clicking away.... :)

Why did I cover up my face? I have already told mummy not to include me in the photo but she just never listen. Headache!

My First Day of School

MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Today is the first day of my nursery school. Papa n mummy have taken the day off from work to accompany me. Well, how did I fare? Frankly speaking, I am not too sure. Mummy says most of the time I appear to be rather lost and blur (but I know I must be a brave boy and should try not to cry which I am glad that I didn't).

CHRISTMAS 2007 - CELEBRATION AT YEE MA VIVIEN'S HOUSE

This year X'mas celebration is held at Yee Ma Vivien's house. We had a fabulous time, especially during the gift exchange cum present opening time. Splendid!

But silly me mistaken that all the presents received at yee ma's house were additional to those already at home. I didn't know Mummy has brought all the presents from our home to yee ma's house for me. No wonder there were so many duplicate toys!!

Baby Aaron also had a wonderful time messing with all our toys. I had a hard time 'protecting' mine..... :)

No fancy candlelit dinner at posh restaurant this year. Papa n mummy decided to have a nice, simple n cosy dinner at home instead cos:

(1) Little Ryan had his afternoon nap late and woke up feeling so grouchy that he refused to leave home.

(2) The traffic has been soooo terrible at Orchard Road these few days that papa n mummy is not sure whether they want to risk going there tonight.

(3) Mummy's stomach is so big now that it is also not advisable to go to Orchard Road.

So, let's check out the nice dinner prepared by my papa.

How did we celebrate our Christmas Eve this year? Well, mummy ordered some 'disney characters' cookie cutters from Aunty Ethel and decided we shall try it today. We had fun and made quite a mess initially until we finally get the dough with the right mix. Merry X'mas!

We will be taking the flight back to Singapore this evening. No particular activities today, just rest and relax! Overall, all of us (including my little sister) have enjoyed ourselves this holiday.

Today is our second last day in Taipei and our itinerary today is to visit the Taipei Zoo in the morning and also to take the Maokong Gondola ride (cable car) to a 'dun-know what name' mountain. We also had a very yummy lunch up in the mountain - very 'organic' as the chicken/vegetables are reared/grown by the villagers living in the mountain.

Papa n mummy brought me to the zoo as it was recommended by their colleagues (thanks to Aunties Fion and Jade) who just returned from Taipei not too long ago. Well, it was a good choice cos we enjoyed ourselves tremendously.

Oh, we also did a lot more shopping at 'Shilin' night market as mummy says tonight will be our last nite in Taipei.

We went shopping at Sogo and had lunch at the famous 'Ding Tai Feng'. The 'Q' was super super long but mummy says it is much more organised compared to Singapore. The Dim Sum was nice!

After lunch, we went to Taipei 101. The weather was terrible today (pouring heavily and thick black clouds were hovering the sky throughout the day - see from our photos), hence we were unable to get to the observatory deck of the tower for the view.

Taipei 101, despite having completed 4 years ago, is still very well-keep. But frankly speaking, I am not too keen to walk around cos there was no 'my-shop' there (i.e. toy shop). So, can anyone guess what did I do there? I had my hours-long afternoon nap there while papa n mummy enjoying their sips of coffees and teas at Maxim.

At night, we went back to 'XiMenTing' cos mummy wanted to do more shopping. Our dinner was at one of those Taiwan's bubble tea cafe with lots of stuff toys there to play with (we didn't know we are not allowed to play and take photos with the toys, sorry....)

After a super-long tiring day yesterday, finally we are on our own 'free n easy tour' from now onwards. Our plan for today is to visit 'TamShui Fisherman's Wharf' - the famous Valentine Bridge ('Qin Ren Qiao') and today is also the 5th ROM's anniversary of my papa n mummy.

The weather has been exceptionally good today (its supposed to be quite wet during this period of time) - very sunny and the breeze was great.

DAY 2 (28 OCT 07)

We had our 1-day city tour today. Its rather disappointing though. The tour guide was only interested in bringing us HER places that sell those typical things for tourists, like Royal Jelly, Lingzhi, some dun know what precious stone, etc. Mummy was so tired climbing up and down the double-decker coach. We were only given a few minutes (at most 10 minutes) at each sight-seeing location. Papa says we are like little ducks being chase off the coach to take some pics and then chase back to the coach again to the next designation.

Despite all this, the National Museum (Gu Gong) was a nice place.

All Getting Ready for Taipei (27 Oct 07)

I am soooo excited. We are going to Taipei today. Dun know where is it but is extremely excited cos papa n mummy say we will be taking the aeroplane there. AEROPLANE! That's means I can have my favourite cup noodle again :)

A Special Day (14 July 2007)

Today is a very special day. We are changing our car. Frankly speaking, we kinda miss our old car who has been with us for the past years and has gone through many special moments with us. This was the car that ferry us everywhere from the time mummy is expecting me till now. This was also the car that sent mummy to hospital to have me delivered as well as sending all of us home from the hospital. Papa says the car is getting old and is also becoming more and more expensive to service it, hence it would be wiser to change a new one now.

ENRICHMENT CLASS? Feb 2007

Mummy signed me up for an enrichment class with M*M at HDB Hub. It is supposed to help to simulate the left and right brain of a child. Initially I enjoy the class alot as I have joined some of the holiday activities/camps organised by them last Nov/Dec. But my nightmare (and mummy's too) came after the 2nd lesson, where my usual teacher was changed. I had a relief teacher (Miss P). She is not friendly at all and has very high expectation, she gets annoyed when I am unable to complete my task according to what she wants. I cried terribly in class, I am so scared and mummy is not in the classroom. Can someone please help me to call my mummy back?

When I finally get to see mummy, her face was stunned! (cos I have never ever cried in any of the classes that I have attended so far). Before she can find out what happen, Miss P was busy telling mummy that I can't do this, I can't do that...... AND she asked mummy how come Ryan does not know her hp no? HELLO! did anyone tell her I am only a two and a half years old kid??? Doesn't the school keep record of mummy's particulars? Frankly, I do not care what Miss P has to say, I just want to leave quickly. I heard mummy telling her that there is no real need to rush or push Ryan too much cos this is only his 2nd lesson and moreover, he is much younger compared to other kids in the same class. But Miss P 'scolded' mummy for thinking that way, she says mummy needs to do her part to teach the child to behave and cooperate in class, she goes on and on saying she is just a relief teacher only and she is EXTREMELY tired now after so many classes.

Finally, enough is enough. Its mummy's turn to be angry, I mean she is really angry. She told Miss P off that if she is SO TIRED, then please stay at home, dun work!

When we get into papa's car, its papa's turn now to be angry after hearing what mummy said. I have never see mummy so angry before, she called the school principal straight away and told her everything. I am so sad, I asked mummy is it cos I am not a good boy, that's why Miss P dun like me and scolded mummy??? I saw tears rolling down mummy cheek, what happen.......

That night, I couldn't sleep well and I think neither did papa nor mummy.

Chiang Mai Holiday Again (Jan 2007)

Back to Chiang Mai (Jan 2007)

I am back to Chiang Mai for holiday again. But this time round it is exclusively with my papa n mummy only. Papa wanted to rest and relax, hence this is a totally free and easy package.

As we are staying there for 1 whole week, there is no real need to rush where we want to go. Mummy has been pampering herself with massage and mani/pedi-cure while papa n I take our afternoon nap. Though I also cry a little, throw a little tantrum when I couldn't find mummy when I wake up. Otherwise, I think I can be considered to be well behaved!

Of course, papa has his fair bit as well by lazing around reading a book or simply doing nothing in a nice cafe drinking all sort of coffee and teas.

And this time, I have plenty of photos to show all of you. See the BIG difference with papa travelling with us... ...

First Holiday without Papa (May 2006)

FIRST HOLIDAY WITHOUT PAPA (May 2006)

Its the holiday season again! This time round Mummy brought me to Chiang Mai, but papa did not come along as he is too busy with work. Papa has been super super busy with work since end of last year after he was assigned a 'mega-size' project at Orchard Road. He says that we could only plan for our holiday either end of the year or early next year.

This is also my first time travelling on budget airline (Tiger) and besides mummy, there is also yee ma whole family and po po travelling. Though its budget airline, but the whole experience is actually quite great. I actually get to see the whole aeroplane at such close distant as well as walk up to the plane myself and not forgetting the cup noodle are fabulous!

This is a holiday for relaxing (not sure did mummy really manage to relax or not), eating, shopping and more shopping. And tell u one thing, mummy has been shopping so much that she forgot which folder did she save all the photos taken. So far, these are the only ones she manage to find.

See, this is what happen when papa is not around to sort out all these things for mummy :(

Its the time of the year again. Yes, my 2nd Birthday. There is no big party this year just a family gathering instead. But all the presents are still just as attractive, hee hee.

My new idol (for now) is The Incredibles. So papa n mummy got me two really superb birthday cakes from Swensen with the print of Incredible on it. A lot of ppl say my papa looked like Mr Incredibles so that makes me little Jack Jack (I think Jack Jack is cuter than Dash). What do you think?

4 DAYS WITHOUT MUMMY! (FEB 2006)

Oh no! Mummy has been asked to travel to NY for work. This is her first overseas working trip after giving birth to me. Her last trip was with me still inside her tummy. How nice if only I could hid in her tummy and follow her.

Although she is only required to be there for a 2 days meeting, but cos of the long haul travel plus time different, she will be away for a total of 4 DAYS.

The day she flew off, she cried and I cried too. Oh my god!

We finally bought our first X'mas Tree to replace the super tiny one we had for last year Christmas. Mummy says that among all the holidays, X'mas is her favourite and is definitely one of mine too cos I love all the presents received during Christmas.

HONG KONG HOLIDAY (NOV 05)

Year 2005 is really an amazing year for me. First we went Japan for holiday in Feb, then Desaru in Sep and NOW, we are going Hong Kong in Nov.

Actually this Hong Kong trip was not in Papa n Mummy original plan and its a real unexpected holiday for us. The story begins on one Sat morning when mummy read in the paper that CTC is organising a special promotion for DBS credit card holder "$90 air ticket person to Hong Kong" for the 1st 100 customers. So she wakes papa up and asked if he is interested. The initial plan for that day was to visit Peter Pan Studio for our second photo shot, but papa think why not en route to CTC first and see how.

When we reached CTC, there was already a queue outside the office. Papa n mummy were so keen to try their luck and so we also joined in. Actually the whole experience was quite fun, papa bought snacks/drinks for us, we eat, we talk and we play as we wait. Fortunately for us, after waiting for about 3-4 hours, the staff told us we are within the 1st 100 customers. BUT then they told us that the $90 air ticket promotion does NOT apply to children (ME). I need to pay the full usual amount for the air-ticket. So unfairful, why are they discriminating against children? Sob sob..... I was so worried that papa n mummy will just buy 2 tickets for themselves and go without me.... how????

Luckily for me, my papa n mummy prove to me once again that they will never leave me alone. And guess what's next? Hong Kong, here we come... ... ...

We have our second holiday @ Desaru. Actually its the company holiday trip organised by papa n mummy office. Wow, there are so many people and altogether I think there are 6 coaches. Papa is one of the organisers and has been busying running around doing this and that. Poor mummy was left to handle me and our luggage. However I overheard mummy telling papa although her body is aching terribly but she is happy the 3 of us are together holidaying. She reminded papa how much they regretted last year when they came to Malacca for their company trip WITHOUT ME and in the end did not really enjoy the holiday. Wow I didn't know I am so important to them :)

RYAN IS ONE!

It's finally here. YES! My first birthday party. My Papa n Mummy say since they did not manage hold a party to celebrate when I turned one month old, they will do a nice one for me on my birthday.

Actually a lot of the planning and coordination were handled by mummy cos papa is still in Mumbai, its not a grand party but we had fun and best of all, I love all my presents. Thank you.

Mummy and I are so happy today cos papa has a surprise trip home this weekend as he needs to attend some new computer software training organised by the office. Papa has been posted by his office to work in Mumbai - India for 3 months. Oh no, Mummy is really scared and worried but still she try her best to put on a brave face in front of papa telling him she is fine and would be able to cope with working and looking after me. Mummy told me this will be a good working experience/exposure for papa so we must be supportive.

Before papa leaves for Mumbai, he brought us to the Bird Park as one of our weekend outings. He also promised to be back next month to celebrate my first birthday.

MY FIRST HOLIDAY - JAPAN FEB 05

Guys, can you believe it! My Papa n Mummy brought me to Japan - Tokyo for my first holiday. It was freezing cold there but we had lots of fun. The first night sleeping on the Tatami flooring at a hot spring hotel resort (near Mt Fuji) was a great experience. I enjoyed myself tremendously rolling from one place to another. But my poor papa n mummy were busy moving and stacking all the furniture to one corner as they are so worried I might knock onto them.

Disneyland Japan is fabulous! The staff are so baby-friendly, we practically took photos with every Disney characters without having to queue (with the exception of Mickey and Minnie of course). Papa n Mummy could not believe their luck, all they need was to push my pram forward and the staff will signal for us to come forward for the photo-taking. (are they baby-friendly or cos I am cute to them???)

Thank you papa n mummy for the fantastic holiday. I love you. Muack!

BABY COMPETITION (16 Jan 06)

Papa and Mummy signed me up for the Baby Competition at Sengkang CC. The competition was not as fun as what we initially thought. We have to register at 8.30am, after that we were told to wait at the holding area for our turn to be assessed by the panels. The wait was so long, I am really tired and sleepy by the time its my turn to be assessed. Can't blame me for not being cooperative (why should I do what they asked me when they have made me wait so long outside). Of course with such attitude, I didn't win in the end!

Mummy : "Sorry darling, I didn't know it would be like that. Promise, we shall not sign up for anymore such contest".

My First 6 Months

MY FIRST 6 MONTHS

At 3 months old, I am able to sit on my rocking chair and blow bubbles :)

Papa and Mummy are so proud and amaze that I could lift up my head in the span of 1 day time. Actually I have been practising very hard at night when they were both sleeping zzzzz....

At 5 months old, I decided to show off some of my newly learnt stunts:

- I am able to sit on my own without any support (hee hee, actually it is only for a few seconds only)

- I am able to hold my own milk bottle

To celebrate ME turning to 6 months old, Papa and Mummy brought me to Peter Pan Studio to take our very FIRST family/individual portrait. A lot of papa and mummy's friends in the office says I looked very handsome sitting in that fisherman's bucket (what do you think?)

I also had my first passport photo taken today. Since the photo is meant for those Custom Uncles and Aunties, I better look serious.

(Passport for me? Are they going to bring me for a holiday? I wonder where to?)
